How To Proceed to Build this Organization
To
build an organization means building unity among Africans and splintered African groups. Definite, decisive work must
be done to bring it about. First, it is necessary to bring about unity of ideas which will remove the differences of
opinion and confusion that reign among Africans at this time.
Second, this unity of ideas must be fortified
by a unified organizational program. Before Africans can unite, and in order that Africans may unite, Africans must
first of all firmly and definitely draw the lines of demarcation. Those lines of demarcation must be drawn in a scientifically
accurate document that outlines the program of action that all of us must agree to. Only equals can unify equally.
Race, class, culture, gender, generation questions must be resolve equally and progressively. People should be treated fairly.
Align within before without. Always tell the truth or say nothing. Always give your best, perfection is getting
the most out of what you have. Stand beside those who stand beside you. Honor the work of our best ancestors.
Unite with the morally pure, those who keep their word, those who work rather than talk, those who put Black first.
Otherwise, Africans unity will be a mere illusion, just fancy talk, which will temporarily conceal the prevailing
confusion and prevent its complete elimination. Third, an organization(s) must be set up especially for the purpose
of maintaining contact among all the centers of the movement, and for supplying comprehensive, timely, and precise information
about the movement.
In the past, all successful national liberation movements and social movements for
progress have had the following ingredients for a successful completion of revolutionary goals:
- Unstable,
decaying society that is in the process of collapsing
- Oppressive ruling race, class, and culture that is unable to
rule the old way and an oppressed race, class, culture and sex that will not be ruled in the old way
- Steeled, disciplined,
dedicated visionary/independent organizations with skilled, honest, morally sound, self reliant, focused, scientific leaders
with Harriet Tubman's heedlessness.
- Material resources and ideological resources in the form of scientific philosophy,
theory, methods, program, principle, and policies. And a favorable technological/economic transition.
Africans
lack phases 2, 3 and 4 all over the world. Africans must frankly admit this defect, and devise methods to improve it.
Only when organized into an African organization of a new type will Africans put themselves in a position to fulfill the historical
task that confronts them, namely to unite, liberate ourselves, mobilize for mass education/apprenticeship, modernization,
survival perankhs, and crown the struggle waged by a number of African generations that have perished in the past with the
final victory over Africans own weaknesses as a people.
Not a single oppressed group in history has achieved
its complete liberation without producing its own political/scientific leaders, its prominent representatives trained to precisely
design a social movement and, through much hardship, lead it to victory. Black folk will be no different. There are
no white and Arab saviors saving us, no angels flying around, no gods helping us stay enslaved, no milk and honey, no pies
in the sky, no miracles; just the best and the brightest finding their own path, freeing themselves, unifying, going home,
building/rebuild their own civilizations within this life time. Happiness is helping your own. Perfection
is doing all that you can do, giving your best. Victory is winning for yourself, standing tall, toe to toe, face to
face with injustice and doing what is necessary for justice.
Making a general call for action, as many
African organizations have in the past, without putting forward a particular plan of action is similar to leading sheep to
slaughter. While these African organizations may have been sincere, their plans of action (or lack of planning) were
of little use to the forward flow of African liberation.
